we would like to apologize for our lack of posts. you see, it’s been christmas, and everyone knows that it is rude to be on the computer writing a blog when family is around. we wouldn’t want to be the subject of our own blog, now would we. *grin*
now that i’ve cleared the air…
something that i have noticed among the human race is this: people don’t always know how to walk. sure, everyone gets the “one foot in front of the other” concept, but not everyone understands that walking is just like driving a car. let me explain this simple, yet apparently confusing idea.
when you drive a car, you drive on the right side of the road. when you walk, you should walk on the right side of the street, side walk, mall floor – whatever. this will eliminate the awkward “ahh, someone is coming near me and we both shimmy from side to side trying to figure out where to go” experiences. we all know that’s painfully awkward. if everyone just knew to stay on the right side, those problems would disappear.
in the same way, if you must pass a slow walker, pass on the LEFT. the left is always the fast lane, both on wheels or on foot. it just makes sense.
also, follow the right of way rules. if you need to turn left on a pathway, wait until those going straight are done and then make your turn. just like if you were driving.
i think you get my point. all i’m saying is that awkward moments, uncomfortable bumps, and much frustration could be eliminated if people followed the road rules while on foot.
so next time you must take a stroll, remember these simple rules. it’s just how to be a human.
we hope you had a lovely holiday! remember your manners when you are out celebrating new years!
